Amaltas Spa

The program for this day spa was to provide a reception and waiting area, 2 couples treatment rooms, 2 single treatment rooms as well as a relaxation area on the upper level.

The operators of the spa, L’Occitane wanted the French brand from Provence’s ethos to be reflected within the space; Refreshing and natural in its look and feel, Pure and uncluttered in its experience, Eco-friendly and sustainable in its approach.

We curved the walls of the reception and edges of the treatment rooms, and used recycled timber for doors and partitions. The reception seating in fresh blues and greens are set against a curvilinear mustard wall, reflecting the colours of the Mediterranean, the sky, water, fields with yellow flowers. Single seater chairs were made in cane, the coffee table in bleached sustainable wood, and rug in natural sisal.

The well appointed treatment rooms, each with their own shower, were designed in a combination of mustard and vertical ribbed wood as cladding, A portion of the treatment rooms were raised with a wooden deck flooring and free standing tubs perched on top.
