We were commissioned to design the interiors of Mock up Villas for The Brigade Orchard Development at North Bangalore.
We were asked to create two mockup villas, which would reflect a warm, elegant and sophisticated environment for the prospective buyer.
Broadly and conceptually we chose that the villa designs be viewed in the genre of ‘Tropical Modern’. We drew inspiration from nature and the lush greenery of Bangalore where the development is set. As the name suggests, the site was home to a fruit orchard, and we wanted to reflect this subtly in our design.
In Villa T Type, the flooring is in a light imperial beige Italian marble and the primary backdrop wall of the living area in a honed finished travertine. The ceiling of the living room is clad in a hand woven banana fiber matting and is highlighted gently by a cove.
The furnishings, rugs, and accessories in the living and dining areas are in contrast with the floor in earth tones – warm olive, rust, prune, brown, beiges and shades of green set against furniture in a wenge finished teakwood.
The furniture is mature, with pieces finished in tones of dark leather, and others in chenille and suede.
Textured Wallpapers in the bedrooms in sea green, mauve and garnet accentuate the backdrop of the beds and large canvases of contemporary abstract art in the same earth tones fill the walls.
The bathrooms and kitchens have been clad in subtly textured porcelain tiles in light tones and counters in finely molded resin.
All the furniture, light fixtures, soft furniture, artwork was custom designed or sourced specifically for this Villa.
