Epsilon Clubhouse

The brief from this residential community was to create a much required indoor facility at their clubhouse . The program required a large open space with a bar counter, comfortable lounge seating, a library, cards table and a few pool tables. Apart from recreational activities, it was proposed as a space for a variety of events and community gatherings.

Since the setting was amongst beautifully landscaped gardens, overlooking a large swimming pool dotted with coconut, temple trees and lush bougainvillea, we chose to create a structure that would visually open up to this view.

We created a glass pavilion out of exposed structural steel sections, 12ft high, 75ft in length and 25 ft. in width. A warm sweeping partition clad in wood veneer in the primary design feature and it conceals store and operational rooms to its rear. It starts at the bar at one end and curves organically into a bookshelf hugging the low library seating. The entire ceiling is clad with natural banana fiber matting, and earth tones abound in the upholstery, furniture and light fittings echoing the tropical nature of the surrounding environment.
