LAP

LAP was concieved as Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal’s first entrepreneurial venture. The design brief was to create a members only club of decadence and style; sensuous, plush and exclusive.

We drew inspiration from the Art Deco period , the Victorian Era and in Indian Royalty, times that have had a brush with decadence in India’s royal past , seamlessly weaving these timespans and genres.

The overriding element in LAP is an elaborate hand crafted Art Deco guilded ceiling, with multiple glowing domes embossed with a star shape and then surrounded by a dramatic wave like fishscale pattern.

The entrance foyer has a curved wall padded with a stylized floral motif, and amber coloured Swarovski crystals, backlit with led lights form a random pattern.

LAP has distinct art deco undertones from the bold sweep of the curved bar to the majestic domes dipped in champagne hues. The seating is designed for lounging in clusters. The walls adorned in a stuccoed champagne finish, with victorian antique gold frames embelleshing portraits of a regal Maharaja and Maharani.

The wall behind the bar is clad in midnight black velvet with a laser cut gold sheet carved in the shape of a wildly tropical tree. From the centre of the ceiling is a magnificent chandelier especially commissioned from Swarovski Elements. The clusters of seating have lamps besides them, the shades shot through with portraits of erstwhile royalty. All this makes LAP a deeply sensory experience.

Stepping out of the indoor area is a romantic and verdant garden with al fresco dining.
